Norway in 12 days

Day 1 - Arrival in Oslo

Arrival in Oslo, where you would be welcomed by you local guide. The day will be dedicated to the discovery of the Norwegian capital, with a stop at the famous ski jumping hill in Holmenkollen, offering a panoramic view on the city and the fjord.

Day 2 - Oslo - Geilo

Start the day with a traditional Norwegian breakfast, then go on a 3-hour guided tour of Oslo. You will discover the city's iconic landmarks: the Parliament, Karl Johan Avenue, the Royal Palace Garden, the National Theatre, the University, the harbour, the Aker Brygge Galery, the Akershus fortress and the new Opera. The visit will then continue in Vigeland park famous for its 212 sculptures by Gustav Vigeland

Finish the morning with the Viking Ship Museum in Bygdøy and the Fram Museum, dedicated to the ship of explorer Nansen.

After lunch, direction to Geilo, a winter sports resort at 800m altitude. On the road, you can stop at Torpo to visit it stave church, and at Al to visit the Skattebol farm.

Day 3 - Geilo - Bergen

Departure for the Ustedal Valley, heading towards the Hardangervidda National Park, the largest mountain plateau in Europe and the natural habitat of wild reindeer. You will take a spectacular scenic road, often buried under snow in winter.

Photo stop at the impressive Vøringsfossen waterfalls, which plunge 182 meters. then descend through the Mabødalen gorge to reach Eidfjord, crossed by the Hardanger Bridge. The road then follows the magnificent Hardangerfjord, passing through Norheimsund and Øystesse.

Arrival in Bergen, a Hanseatic city listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Lunch at a restaurant, followed by a 3-hour guided tour including the old harbour, the colourful Bryggen district, Håkonshallen Fortress, and St. Mary's Church.

End your day by exploring the historic city centre and its shopping streets.

Day 4 - Cruise on the Sognefjord

Arrived in Gudvangen, you will board a ferry for a 3-hour cruise through the majestic Nærøyfjord et Sognefjord, surrounded by steep cliff and small fisherman hamlets, in a scenery listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Disembarkation in Kaupanger et stop to admire its 17th-century stave church.

Continue your journey along the spectacular Sognefjellsvegen road to the village of Bøverdalen, passing over the highest mountain pass in Europe, often still covered of snow in spring.

Jour 5 - Bøverdalen - Trondheim

Departure to the village of Lom to visit its beautiful 13th-century stave church. Continue the journey through Rondane and Dovrefjell National Parks, home to wild musk oxen.

Arrival in Trondheim, the capital of the Trøndelar region, located on the shores of the vast Trondheim Fjord. You will enjoy a 3-hour guided tour that will introduce you to the history of this city, founded in 997 by the Viking king Tryggvason.

As you walk through the city, you will pass by Nidaros Cathedral and the trendy Bakklandet district, with its 18th-century wooden warehouses and houses. You can also climb up to Kristiansten Forteress, which offers a stunning view over the city and the fjord.

To end your day, we recommend visiting the Sverresborg Trøndelag Folk Museum.

Day 6 - Trondheim - Mosjøen

Departure along the Trondheim Fjord towards Nord-Trøndelag, a forested region where agriculture, forestry, and unspoiled nature prevail. It's home to rich wildlife and emblematic flower : Cypripedium calceolus.

Continue towards the Nordland province, a vast territory of the Far North, known for its endless winters and never-ending summer days.

Arrival in Mosjøen, a charming town by the fjord, with its traditional wooden houses, at the foot of the mountains

Day 7 - Mosjøen - Bodø

Departure for Mo I Rana, an industrial town at the end of the Randjord near the Svartisen glacier. Visit the Artic Circle Museum, dedicated to Arctic wildlife and nothern fishing traditions.

Travel through Saltfjellet National Park and cross the Arctic Circle, with a stop at the museum and the memorial for the victims of Nazism.

Continue to Fauske, known for its pink marble, then follow the road along the Saltenfjord to Bodø, famous for the impressive Saltstraumen maelstrom. Stop in this lively town, surrounded by mountains, and visit the medieval church of Bodin.

Day 8 - Lofoten Islands - Vesteralen

Departure from Bodø by ferry for a 4-hour crossing to the Lofoten Islands. Arrival in Moskenes, at the southern tip of the archipelago, then drive to the village of Reine, surrounded by spectacular landscapes of mountains and sea, with its colourful rorbuer and cod-drying racks.

Continue through Kavelvåg and its 19th-century wooden church, then head to Svolvær, the capital of the Lofoten Islands, overlooked by the "Goat" mountain (Svolværgeita).

Pursuit through the Austvågøya and Hinnøya Islands, ending in Harstad, a charming city between sea and mountains, overlooked by Mount Gangastoppen, which offers a stunning panorama.

Day 9 - Harstad - Tromsø

Departure towards Troms province, while crossing the Tjelsund bridge. Road along the Otofjord et through Bergdal Valley, offering wild landscapes of mountains, lakes and waterfalls, under the midnight sun.

Pass through the Malselv Falls and their salmon ladder, the longest of Europe, with a glass observation platform to admire wild salmon.

Continue along the Balsfjord to Tromsø, the capital of Northern Norway, located on an island and connected to the mainland by a large bridge. Enjoy a guided tour of this Arctic city, nicknamed "the Paris of the North", famous for its polar expeditions, wooden houses, and the Arctic Cathedral with its spectacular stained-glass window.

Day 10 - Tromsø - North Cap

Departure on a beautiful coastal road along the Lyngen and Kvenangen Fjord, bordered by snow-covered summit. On the way, Sami people offer their traditional crafts. Entering the province of Finnmark, a vast territory with ice-free coasts thanks to the Gulf Stream.

Visit to Alta and the Hjemmeluft Museum, known for its thousands rock carvings dating from 2500 to 6000 years.

Continuation to Magerøy Island and stop at Honningsåg, small harbour on the Porsvangerfjord. In the evening, drive to the majestic North Cap, the impressive cliff overlooking the Arctic Ocean, to enjoy the midnight sun.

Day 11 - Alta - Oslo

Return to Atla crossing the Trunda plateau of Sennalandet, Sami territory where we harvest the grass of senna to double the traditional shoes.

Flight back to Oslo from Alta Airport.

Day 12 - End of the adventure

Enjoy you last morning in Oslo to walk in the city centre and admire the fresco of the City Hall or to wander along the harbour in Aker Brygge district. A walk on the Akershus Fortress' ramparts also offers a beautiful view on the fjord.

All good things must come to an end! Transfer to the airport for your return flight.
